Naomi Osaka and her partner Cordae are expecting their first child.
On Twitter and Instagram today, the tennis player posted a photo of her ultrasound with the caption, “Can’t wait to get back on the court, but here’s a little life update for 2023.”
The ultrasound was followed by a longer remark, which was given in the form of a screenshot from her iPhone Notes app. “The past few years have been fascinating to say the least, but I find that it’s the most hard moments in life that may be the most enjoyable. “These few months away from the game have given me a new love and appreciation for the game to which I’ve committed my life,” she wrote. “I know I have a lot to look forward to in the future, and one of them is for my child to watch one of my matches and say, ‘that’s my mom.'”
She went on to say that 2023 will be a year “full of lessons for me.” Osaka withdrew from the Australian Open four days ago, but she declared today on social media that she expects to return in 2024.
Cordae and Osaka have been dating since 2019, with the singer frequently cheering her on in the stands during high-profile matches. They attended the Met Gala together in 2021, which Osaka co-chaired.
